Terms and Conditions
Last updated 7 October 2026
1. About these terms
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") form an agreement between you and Teachivo ("Teachivo", "we", "us"), an Australian business, and apply to your use of the Teachivo website and services, including report comments, worksheets, lesson plans, slides, scope and sequence plans, assessments and any related features (the "Service").
By ticking the box when you create an account, or by using the Service, you confirm that you have read, understood and accepted these Terms. If you do not accept them, you must not create an account or use the Service.
2. Eligibility and your account
The Service is intended for teachers and other education professionals aged 18 or over. You must give accurate details when you register and keep them up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your password and recovery code secure and for everything that happens under your account. Tell us promptly at support@teachivo.net if you suspect unauthorised access. Your email address cannot be changed after registration.
One person, one account. You must not share your login with others or let anyone else use your account.
3. Free trial, payments and no refunds
New accounts receive a 30-day free trial with no card required, including a limited number of AI generations. The trial is limited to one per person: an account created with an email address, device or network that has already had a free trial (including addresses that only differ by dots or a "+" tag, or that use a temporary inbox service) starts on the Free plan instead. When the trial ends your account moves to our Free plan, which stays free and needs no payment details. The Free plan includes a smaller monthly allowance of AI generations, and worksheets, lesson plans and slides you download carry a Teachivo watermark.
We also offer a paid Pro plan, billed monthly or yearly at the price shown to you when you subscribe, with a larger monthly allowance of AI generations and no watermark. Prices are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise, and payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. Allowances reset at the start of each calendar month. The details of each plan are shown on our pricing page and may change on notice.
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the Billing page and you will keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
All fees are non-refundable. We do not offer refunds, credits or pro-rata reimbursement for unused time, partial periods, unused features or change of mind, including if you cancel part-way through a billing period or stop using the Service.
Nothing in this section limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded (see section 12). Where the law entitles you to a remedy, such as for a major failure of the Service, that remedy is not affected.
We may change our prices or plans on reasonable notice. Changes apply from your next billing period.
4. AI-generated material and accuracy
Much of the Service uses artificial intelligence to draft content. AI output can be incomplete, out of date or wrong, and may not match the current syllabus, your school's policies or your students' circumstances.
Teachivo cannot and does not guarantee that any material generated or provided through the Service is 100% accurate, complete, current or suitable for your purpose. This includes report comments, marks or feedback suggestions, worksheet questions and answers, mathematical working, diagrams, images, lesson content, syllabus references and outcomes.
You are a professional and remain solely responsible for reviewing, checking and editing all material before you use, publish, share or submit it, including before it goes to students, parents, carers or your school. Report comments and assessment judgements remain your professional responsibility.
5. Your content and student information
You keep ownership of the content you enter and the material you create with the Service. You grant us a limited licence to store, process and display that content solely to provide and improve the Service for you, including sending it to the third-party services described in section 8 to generate results.
When you approve a lesson plan or worksheet, you can choose to share it with the Teachivo library; the option sits beside the Approve button and you can untick it each time. If you share, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to keep a copy, without its link to your class or its pictures, and to use it to improve the Service for all teachers, including reviewing it with AI, learning from the changes teachers make, and offering it or material based on it to other teachers. A copy that identifies a student, teacher or school is not used. Unticking the option on a later approval removes that copy. You keep ownership of your work.
You are responsible for having the right to enter any information you provide, including any information about students. You must follow your school's, employer's and education authority's policies on student data and on the use of AI tools, and you should only enter the personal information about students that you need. Where possible, use first names or initials rather than full names.
You must not upload content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringes anyone's intellectual property, or that you do not have permission to use.
6. Encryption and security
We take reasonable steps to protect information held in the Service. Teachivo offers encryption features for student information, for example encrypting student full names for sharing with colleagues so that they can only be unlocked with your password or recovery code. Because we do not hold the keys to that encrypted information, we cannot recover it for you if you lose both your password and your recovery code.
No system is completely secure. We are not liable for any loss, unauthorised access or breach that occurs on or through your own devices, browsers, networks or accounts, or that results from your actions or omissions. This includes malware, lost or stolen devices, shared or weak passwords, phishing, exposed recovery codes, or someone else using a device you are logged in on. You are responsible for keeping your devices and credentials secure.
If we become aware of an eligible data breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
7. Acceptable use
You must not: misuse the Service or try to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to it or to other users' data; copy, resell, reverse engineer or scrape the Service; use it to create content that is harmful, discriminatory, harassing or unlawful; use automated means to create accounts or generate content in bulk; or use the Service in breach of any law or of your employer's policies.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with or without notice where the breach is serious. No refund is payable on suspension or termination for breach.
8. Privacy and third-party services
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We collect only what we need to run the Service, such as your name, email, organisation, role, state, and the classes and content you create.
To provide the Service we use trusted third-party providers, such as AI providers that generate content, payment processors, email delivery, hosting and bot-protection services. Content you submit for generation is sent to those providers, and some of them may process data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure they handle information appropriately, but we do not control their systems.
Our Privacy Policy at /privacy explains this in more detail and forms part of these Terms.
We do not sell your personal information. You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a privacy complaint, by emailing support@teachivo.net. If you are unhappy with our response you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
We will send you service emails such as password resets and account notices. We will only send marketing messages in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), and you can unsubscribe at any time.
9. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, branding, templates and illustrations, belongs to Teachivo or its licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your own teaching and professional work while your account is active.
You are responsible for making sure that material you upload, and material you produce with the Service and share, complies with copyright law, including educational licence conditions that apply to your school.
Syllabus documents and outcomes referred to in the Service belong to their respective education authorities. Teachivo is not affiliated with or endorsed by any education authority unless expressly stated.
10. Availability and changes to the Service
We aim to keep the Service available and working well, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error free. It may be unavailable for maintenance, updates or reasons outside our control, including failures of third-party providers.
We may change, add or remove features at any time. Please keep your own copies of important documents, as we cannot guarantee that content will always be recoverable.
11. Ending your account
You can stop using the Service and cancel your subscription at any time. You can also delete your account and associated data yourself from your profile page, or by emailing support@teachivo.net. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone, and fees already paid are not refundable.
If you have a paid plan when you ask to delete your account, you keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for. Your plan will not renew, and your account and its data are then permanently deleted on that date. You can cancel the scheduled deletion at any time before then.
We may retain limited information where required by law or to resolve disputes.
12. Australian Consumer Law and limits of liability
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth)). Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts or modifies any right or remedy, or any guarantee, condition or warranty, that you have under that law or any other law and that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, and to the maximum extent permitted by law: the Service and all material in it are provided "as is"; we exclude all other warranties, whether express or implied; and we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, loss of data, loss of profit or reputation, or for any loss arising from your reliance on AI-generated material, from events on your own devices or accounts, from third-party services, or from events outside our reasonable control.
Where our liability cannot be excluded, and where the law allows us to limit it, our total liability to you for any claim is limited to resupplying the Service or paying the cost of having it resupplied, or, if you prefer that we do not, to the fees you paid to us in the 3 months before the claim arose.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes we will give you reasonable notice, for example by email or a message in the Service, and the updated Terms will show a new date. If you keep using the Service after the changes take effect you accept the updated Terms; if you do not agree you should stop using it and cancel your account.
14. Governing law and disputes
Teachivo is based in Australia and these Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You and we submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales and the Commonwealth of Australia.
If you have a concern, please contact us first at support@teachivo.net so we can try to resolve it in good faith.
15. General
These Terms are the entire agreement between you and Teachivo about the Service. If any part is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in force. If we do not enforce a right, that does not mean we have given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent; we may transfer ours as part of a sale or restructure of the business.
