Report comments
Report comments, drafted from your marks.
Mark each student against your rubric in one grid. Teachivo writes a comment from those marks and your notes, in the tone and length your school asks for, and waits for you to approve it.
No card required. Time savings are estimates, not measurements.
How it works
Step 1
Set up your rubric
Build your criteria and levels once, start from a template, or describe the task and let Teachivo draft the rubric for you to edit.
Step 2
Mark your class in one grid
Click a level for each criterion, student by student, with room for your own notes on anything the rubric doesn't capture.
Step 3
Review and approve
Read each draft, edit anything, and approve what's right. Change an approved comment and it goes back to draft, so nothing slips through unread.
Written the way your school wants it
Your tone and length
Choose a formal or warm tone and a word limit from 20 to 300 words, and every comment in the class follows it.
Report or student feedback
Write for the report that goes home, or as feedback addressed to the student.
Pronouns you choose
Write with he, she or they, or use only the student's name.
Term reports that add up
Combine assessments with your own weights into a final mark, add an effort rating, and get a term comment drafted for every student.
Grounded in the rubric
Comments come from your criteria and the levels you marked, so they describe what the student actually did on the task.
Export to Word or Excel
Download the approved comments for a class as a Word document or an Excel spreadsheet, ready for your school's reporting system.
Questions teachers ask
How does Teachivo write report comments?
You mark each student against a rubric. Teachivo turns the levels you chose, plus any notes you add, into a draft comment in your chosen tone and length. You then read, edit and approve each one.
Will every student get the same comment?
No. Each comment is written from that student's own marks and your notes on them, so two students with different results get different comments.
Can I link syllabus outcomes to an assessment task?
Yes. Choose the outcomes a task assesses from your own curriculum: the NSW syllabus in NSW, or the Australian Curriculum v9 elsewhere. Teachivo can then show which outcomes each rubric criterion relates to.
Is it a comment bank?
No. Instead of picking lines from a fixed comment bank, Teachivo writes a fresh report card comment for each student from the rubric levels you marked and your own notes, so no two students get the same comment.
Are the comments always right?
No. Teachivo uses AI to draft, and AI can make mistakes. Everything starts as a draft for you to read, edit and approve, so you stay in charge of what's used.
Is student information safe?
Student names are end-to-end encrypted, so only you, and colleagues you share a class with, can read them. Our servers can't. We recommend entering only what you need, such as first names.
Can I use it for any subject?
Yes. Comments come from whatever rubric you mark against, so they work for any subject and year level you teach.
How much time does it save?
We estimate about 5.5 minutes per report comment and 8 minutes per term report comment, compared with writing them from scratch. For a class of 30 that's over two and a half hours. These are estimates, not measurements.
